The 2017 British Open will tee off in a little under two weeks on the Pirate course at Hastings Adventure Golf, the same venue for the 2016 British Open. This will be the third time that the event has taken place on the Pirate course and it promises to be another strongly fought affair with players ascending from all around Europe for the BMGA showcase event.

Players shall be in Hastings from Friday 7th July for the Player’s Championship along with Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July for the British Open.

The Players Championship will once again follow the same format as it has in previous years. The first round will be open to all players with the top eight then qualifying for the knockout matchplay round. This will follow with the four matchplay winners taking part in a final round decider to crown the 2017 British Players Champion. This will start at 2pm on Friday 8th July and all details can be found at http://www.minigolf.org.uk/joomla/index.php?option=com_eventlist&view=details&id=166&Itemid=56

Sean Homer, BMGA Chairman comments “It's been a busy few months on the tour and what better way to complete our three Majors in three months than with the eagerly anticipated British Open at the spiritual home of UK Minigolf in Hastings. Every tournament that we host in Hastings is always a classic and the upcoming Open promises to keep the trend going. It will be wonderful to greet our International friends again at the course along with our domestic players from across the country and all of our Minigolf clubs. Roll on the 8th!!“

The weekend will also see the conclusion of the 2017 BMGA British Matchplay Championships. The remaining quarter final matches will be completed before the semi-finals and final take place over the course of the weekend. http://www.minigolf.org.uk/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=814:2017-british-matchplay-championship-round-3-draw-confirmed&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=105&Itemid=60
