|2017 Executive Committee update|
As communicated on 4th February, the BMGA have been looking for members interested in being part of the Executive Committee for 2017 and beyond to ensure we can continue to give the best possible support and experiences for our members. There are six places available on the EC and any current 2017 Tour Pro (including those currently on the EC) was able to put themselves forward to be part of the Committee and in the event of more than six candidates, the election would be opened up to our current Tour Pros to vote on who they would like to see on the EC.
On behalf of the current members of the Executive Committee I would like to thank all of the members who submitted their manifestos for the EC positions for this coming season, all of which will be published shortly. The time and effort that has gone into the documents is hugely appreciated and gives a clear indication of the commitment and drive each of the nominees have to become one of the Executive Committee.
We received six nominations for the six potential EC positions and as a result no voting process is required.
With this in mind I am delighted to announce that the 6 individuals set to join Paul Preston (who due to being voted onto the EC last season is set to serve through the coming year at least) on the Executive Committee for 2017 are:
I believe we have a terrific mix of experience for the new EC and it is particularly encouraging to see two of our upcoming juniors on the committee who will offer a great insight into one of the most important areas of our development as an Association and the growth of the BMGA from a younger perspective. This, coupled with the experience and skills of the rest of the EC elect puts us in great shape going forward.
The outgoing EC therefore formally propose the new names for the 2017 committee to be ratified by the attending members and voted onto the EC at the AGM in March.
I would like to thank the three outgoing EC members, Tony Kelly, Martin Greenhead and Keith Kellard for their support, hard work and commitment to the BMGA over the past seasons and I am sure the members appreciate their input and drive in supporting the ongoing development of the association. I look forward to working with all of our new and returning committee members in the coming months and wish them all well in their new roles on the EC.
