BMGA Constitution and Competition Rules Documents PDF Print E-mail

Since the creation of the new Executive Committee last year, one of our early objectives as requested by the members, was to review and update our Constitution and Competition Rules. The Constitution provides clear sections and reference points which members can identify and refer to should they wish to propose changes to the Constitution in future. These documents, attached to this article, have been unanimously agreed by the EC.

All of us on the Executive Committee (Keith Kellard, Mark Wood, Martin Greenhead, Scott Lancley, Tony Kelly and myself) would like to take this opportunity to thank former EC member Chris Smith for his dedication and time in producing and presenting the original versions of both documents. We would also like to thank Adrian Amey and Scott Lancley for their ongoing work in what has been a major undertaking over the course of the year.

Rest assured the EC, which you voted in, have developed the constitution to ensure this document supports the future growth and development of Minigolf sport in the UK, as the recognised National Association of this sport in Great Britain. At all our BMGA tour events this year, members of the EC will be present and you are always welcome to discuss any questions or comments you have regarding these documents with us. We are also looking at additional ways to make the process of feeding back to the EC more streamlined - more details of this will follow in future bulletins.

This article also has the latest updated version of our Competition Rules attached and this serves as a great reference document for all players whether novice or pro. As the governing body for minigolf in the UK, and part of the ever growing Nations under the World Minigolf Federation (WMF) umbrella, the rules that we have in place echo those in place across the worldwide minigolfing community to ensure our ongoing and successful partnership with the WMF.

We are always looking at ways to improve, so rules especially governing (MOS) events and formats of our National Major events (BO, British Championships, British Club Championship) will continue to be reviewed by the EC, ensuring that we produce the best possible events for players on our UK tour, whilst also ensuring that we operate and act in the best interests of our membership as a whole.

Your chance to get involved

We are now looking for a seventh member to complete the make up of Executive Committee to ensure we can continue to give the best possible support and experiences for our members. Any current 2016 Tour Pro can put themselves forward to be part of the EC and if we have more than one candidate then the election will be opened up to our current Tour Pros to vote on who they would like to see on the EC.

With this in mind, any Tour Pro keen to be part of the EC needs to email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with their manifesto (no more than 1 A4 page) by 28th July, answering the following questions:

1) Why do you want to be part of the new EC?
2) What do you bring in terms of experience and skills, etc to the EC that will benefit the BMGA?
) Why should our members vote to elect you onto the EC?

In the event of more than one candidate for the role, the manifestos will be published on BMGA website shortly after the cut off date along with details of the voting process.

I look forward to welcoming our new member onto the EC and know that our new addition will help us to continue to improve and develop the BMGA going forward.
