The 2016 BMGA Tour tees off with the return of the English Open, once again taking place at the Lost City Indoor Adventure Golf course in Nottingham, on Sunday 28th February.

The players at the 2014 event get ready for action.

The three round event will take place on the Temple Trail course at the Cornerhouse complex in Nottingham City centre with players from across the UK taking part. Entry to the competition is £20 for any current 2016 BMGA Tour Pro or £25 for non-tour pros and the entry form can be found at http://www.minigolf.org.uk/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59:forms&catid=36:tournamentsforms&Itemid=56. The 2014 event saw Sean Homer (Kent Minigolf Club) win the title, finishing 22 shots under par (a three round average of 28.7), beating former champion Michael Smith (Midlands Minigolf Club) by 3 shots. Chris Smith (Midlands Minigolf Club) came third following a three way play-off with Chris Harding and Will Donnelly.

BMGA tour pros can benefit from a day practice rate of £10 at the course for unlimited play across the day. This year sees another important change to the weekend, an initiative that has worked well in Cardiff and Birmingham on the 2015 tour. Players taking part in the English Open this year will be able to benefit from an exclusive practice session on the Saturday morning from 8am until 12pm where the course will be closed to the public and only tournament entrants will be playing on the course for those 4 hours. The standard £10 day rate applies, payable to the course on the Saturday morning.

The course will also be open from 8am on the Sunday with an expected 8.45am start time for round one.
