The other prize winners on the day were Paul Johnson (MMGC) as Category 2 champion, Seve Kulkeika (MMGC) as Category 3/4 Champion and Ruth Burke (MMGC) took the Ladies title. Marc Chapman (KMGC) won the ‘Most Improved Player’ over the course of the event to prove the Force had awoken! Finally, the Aces prizes were won by Chris Wood (CEMGC) for Category 1, Adrian Amey (CEMGC) for Category 2 and Brenda Smith (MMGC) for Category 3/4.

After the event, Michael said “I’m delighted to have won the Star City Open. I played well throughout the event, and was particularly pleased not to drop any shots in the tournament. I’d like to thank Mark and Martin for their outstanding organisation and hard work in running the event, ably assisted by Sean, Marion, Tony and Chris. I’d also like to thank John and his friendly team of staff for hosting the event. On the day that Storm Desmond has caused much damage to the UK, the BMGA is lucky that we have indoor venues where we can host brilliant tournaments without having to worry about the weather. Finally, I’d like to thank Sean and Marion Homer, and the entire Executive Committee for all their hard work on the BMGA Tour throughout 2015. We’ve had another superb season full of great events, and this could not have happened without the outstanding commitment from those eight people.”

Sean Homer, Chairman of the BMGA wound up proceedings and said “Star City has become a welcome and very popular venue on the BMGA and the move to see the event close out the season has proven to be a fitting finale to a great season. I would like to thank everyone who made the trip to Birmingham and a special thanks to Mark Wood and Martin Greenhead for doing a top job in running the event. And of course on behalf of all the players I would like to thank John Whitehead and all the team at Adventure Island Minigolf in Birmingham for their superb hospitality and support over the years. We look forward to returning again next year and from all of us at the BMGA, we wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”

A players survey for the Star City Open can be found at and once again we welcome all feedback from the players on the competition. This survey also has a couple of additional year end questions and we would like all players who have taken part in any of the BMGA tour events to take a look and let us know their thoughts.

A final press release will be published on the BMGA website towards the end of December with details of the 2016 calendar, membership information for the year ahead, along with a survey for all players keen on participating in the International competitions scheduled for next year.
