The Great Britain International team aiming to impress at the World Championship in Lahti.

As the BMGA tour approaches the summer break, which takes place following the Splash Point Open at the end of July, all eyes will be on the Great Britain minigolf team and a strong performance at this years World Championship, taking place in Lahti, Finland. Our dedicated group of selectors and coaches to support the 2015 season, made up of the BMGA's most experienced and capped Great Britain International players - Keith Kellard, Chris Harding, James Rutherford and Sean Homer - are delighted to confirm the line-up for this years Championship.

The confirmed team for the World Championships is as follows:

* Sean Homer (Captain)
* James Rutherford
* Adam Kelly
* Will Donnelly
* Scott Lancley
* Chris Wood
* Tony Kelly
* Chris Harding

All four of the selectors recognise the need for dedicated coaching and team management support for our players in Europe. As well as being instrumental in the selection process for the International squad for 2015, Chris will be heading up the coaching support for the World Championships in Finland.

Members of the Great Britain team will be making an appearance at the opening of the new UrbanCrazy designed minigolf course at Dobbies Garden Centre in Peterborough on 1st August. With the official ribbon cutting taking place at 11am, all are welcome to check out the new course and pass on their well wishes to the Great Britain players before they travel out to Finland on 13th August.

Speaking about the selections, Sean said "Our team looks very strong for this years Championships with a great mix of experience and enthusiasm in the players selected. We learnt a huge amount at last years Youth World Championships held in Lahti and saw some excellent results, notably with Adam making the final stages of the event, the first Brit to achieve this in any WMF championship. It's great to see Will making his debut in the mens team and Chris (Wood) making his first apprearance at the World Championships following a successful debut at last years European Championships. One other important factor for our team this year is to have Chris (Harding) as our team coach. Chris is not only one of the most experienced players on the tour, with a wealth of international experience, but is also a terrific coach and mentor for our players. All of this bodes well for our assault on the World Championships and I expect Great Britain to make a very positive impression at the Championships in August".

More information on the World Championships and the Great Britain team will be published in the coming weeks.
