2015 British Championships Players Information Pack PDF Print E-mail

After months of waiting, it is now less than a week to go before the first Major of the BMGA tour, the 2015 British Championships tees off on Saturday 16th May at the Pirate Course in Hastings. This pack contains the key information that you will need to make this weekend’s competition a tournament to remember. If you have any questions regarding the Championships (or the info below) please do not hesitate to contact me, either via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or I will be at the course on Friday in the run up to the competition and am more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Play will tee off on Saturday 16th May at 10.00am (a rolling start with groups of two or three players, all starting at hole 1, going out at 5 minute intervals) with all players playing 5 rounds of 18 holes on the course.

The estimated finish time for the final group of the 5th round on Saturday is 5.00pm.

Sunday will consist of 4 further rounds for all players, with play again starting at 10.00am. The estimated finish time (including presentations) on Sunday is 5.00pm

In the event of a play-off for any of the competition placings this will be a sudden death play off from Hole 1.

The tournament will see the Overall British Champion crowned along with the British Senior and British Womens Champion.

The prize fund up for grabs over the weekend totals £600 and the breakdown of this will be confirmed before the event tees off on Saturday.

The tournament is being run with a rolling start (with the defending Senior champion, Sean Homer having the honour of leading out the field) enabling players to watch other players throughout the day (there will always be people out on the course!) and offers a unique insight into the challenges that the course provides. The Seniors will make up the first 4 groups in the tournament, followed by the Women and then everyone else.

Players remain in their groups throughout the 5 rounds on Saturday (alternating the playing order) and the tee off times for round 1 are listed below, along with the groups for the day (Please note the two pairs listed will be mixed for rounds 2 - 5 to ensure all players get the opportunity to play in a threesome). NB: groups are subject to change if there are any late entrants or withdrawls but should they change the timings will be similar to those listed below):

Results from the British Championships, will be streamed live from Saturday morning at

Players must ensure that they report to the Officials Hut at the course no later than 15 minutes before their scheduled tee-off time.

Details of tee off times for rounds 2 thru 5 will be published at the Tournament hut on Saturday morning. There will be a relatively small break between rounds 1 & 2 with slightly longer breaks between rounds 2 & 3 and 3 & 4.

We are expecting the final group to finish their final round of the day around 5.00pm.

The groups will be rejigged on Sunday to reflect leaderboard and/or Category order, with the leaders going out in the final group for round 6. The groups will again be reshuffled after round 8 in readiness for the final round of the competition.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: For the 2015 WAGM, players who wish to use a golf ball on any lane will only be able to use an official WMF branded Golf Ball (these will be on sale at the course in the run in to the competition). With this in mind, the British Championships will look to mirror this ruling. However due to the limited availablilty of the WMF branded balls, for the British Championships players who want to play a golf ball, will be able to use either a WMF Golf Ball or a recognised branded golf ball (such as Titleist, Nike, etc). Additionally, only WMF approved minigolf balls will be able to be used for both events. Referees will be available to check any balls at the event if you have any doubts as to whether or not a ball is legal.
