If you have any questions regarding the Competition (or the info below) please do not hesitate to contact me, either via e-mail or I will be at the course on Friday this week and am more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

The prize fund over the weekend is as follows;

* 1st place: £1000 and World Crazy Golf Championship trophy

* 2nd place: £750

* 3rd place: £500

* 4th place: £300

* 5th place: £200

* 6th place: £125

* 7th place: £75

* Top Non BMGA Tour Pro: £50
(i.e. the Novice trophy - NB: this will be for the top non BMGA tour pro player outside of the 7 prize money places)

* Aces Champion this year will receive the GOMMERY (for the player with the most hole in one’s outside of the top 18 finishers). This is a brand new trophy sponsored and to be presented by Dave and Liz Gomm and will be given out each year (the player gets to keep it until the next WCGC)

Play will tee off on Saturday 26th October at 8.30am (a rolling start with groups of three players, all starting at hole 1) with all players playing 4 rounds of 18 holes on the course. The estimated finish time for the final group of the 4th round on Saturday is 5.30pm.

Sunday will consist of 2 further rounds for all players, with play scheduled to start at 9.00am (in reverse leader board order – i.e. the players at the foot of the leader board teeing off first and the top of the leader board going out in the last groups for round 5). After 6 rounds, the top 18 players qualify for the final round (featuring the legendary Crazy Crazy Rules with all balls in play in each group!) to decide the winner.

The estimated finish time (including trophy presentations) on Sunday is 4pm. (Please note the day 2 tee off times and groups will be confirmed at the close of play on day 1).

To enable everyone to stay bang up to date with the competition as it progresses throughout the weekend, live round by round results will be streamed on the internet from Saturday morning once the event has started. You can find the link to the results here

As mentioned earlier, the tournament is being run with a rolling start. This will enable players to watch other players throughout the day (there will always be people out on the course!) and offers a unique insight into the challenges that the course provides. Players remain in their groups throughout the 4 rounds on Saturday (alternating the playing order) and the tee off times for round 1 are listed below, along with the groups for the day:

(Please note the final 6 groups - featuring the top 6 players from the 2012 event - may see some minor changes but any subsequent changes will be communicated prior to Saturday).

Marion Homer is Tournament Director for the weekend. All players must ensure that they report to the Officials Hut at the course no later than 15 minutes before their scheduled tee-off time. Each subsequent round will tee off approx 60 minutes after the end of your previous round (please note these timings are approx). When players hand their scorecards in at the end of the round they will be given the start time for heir next round.

The BMGA tournament rules for the World Crazy Golf Championships can be found here.

Please note that player 1 in each of the groups above is an experienced BMGA / International player and they will be happy to assist with any questions you may have during each round.

To ensure the event has a level playing field for all players, in a throw back to the early days of the competition, this year all players will be playing with the new Official championship ball, available from Friday 25 at the course. Full details of the ball can be found here

A WELCOME FROM THE COURSE

A warm welcome to all players for the 2013 event. As ever we at Hastings Adventure Golf are extremely excited and proud to be holding the World Crazy Golf Championships again this year. For those of you that have played before you maybe be expecting to see the 'regulars' of David and Marion Hartley buzzing around the golf. David is sadly off on Sick leave at the moment so will not be in attendance. Good news is Marion will be here as normal to attend to bags and the other player requests...

A few house keeping points

We will endeavour to be on site and have the courses open from 7.30am both days over the weekend. If however this is not early enough for some please feel free to start your practice as early as light allows. The course will be open on Friday 25th until 10pm weather permitting and the same again on the Saturday 26th after the first days play.

The golf building has changed in shape since last years event and we now have a square front. We will dedicate the front right window (as you look from Crazy hole 1) of the building as the 'tournament window'. We will be running our business as normal through the left hand side window so for sake of our customers and the ease of use for yourselves could you please direct all questions and scorecard returns to the 'tournament window'.

We are more than happy to store players belongings but we are fairly limited on space. Marion Hartley is 'Queen of The Bags' and will ensure that everything is stored safely. We would however ask that players try to limit the frequency in which they need access to their belongs where possible.

All WCGC Players will be offered a 50% discount at our catering outlets on both days. We do ask players to make the staff aware that they are playing in the tournament prior to ordering. The Beach retreat Cafe offers panini's, hot dogs, toasted sandwiches, cold snacks (even Salads for the athletes out there) as well as the usual hot and cold drinks. The Kiosk behind the golf will offer Hot and Cold drinks and will be stock piling Hot Doughnuts for those that enjoy a stable diet.

Toilets, there are two options. The public toilets are situated at the far end of the crazy golf course or we have our own toilets in The Beach Retreat Cafe which can be located at the far end of the Adventure course.

That's it from us and we are looking forward to another successful championship and lets all start praying for good weather.

Best of Luck to All!

All the team at Hastings Adventure Golf
