The first Major of the British Minigolf season, the 2013 BRITISH MINIGOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS will be contested across the weekend of 11 / 12 May returning once again to Wroxham Barns in Norfolk. The 7 round strokeplay event will tee-off at 9.30am prompt on Saturday (10am on Sunday) and entry to this eagerly anticipated event is £30 for adults, £25 for BMGA tour Pros and £15 for juniors (age 18 and below).

The course is offering a day practice rate all season of £10 for unlimited play on the course to all BMGA Tour Pros and entrants to the British Championships can also take advantage of free practice at the course on Friday 10 May (please note the course will be closed whilst the Pro-Am - details below - takes place from 6pm - 9pm on the Friday).

As well as the 3rd Charity Hole In One Challenge of the season (taking place on Sunday), the BMGA and Wroxham Barns are linking up on the Friday evening for a Charity Pro-Am event, with all proceeds going to the MacMillan Cancer support fund. 18 teams of 4 will be taking part (consisting of 3 local players and 1 Tour Pro) and the team with the lowest combined score across 18 holes of the course will be the winners!!

To help with the promotion of the event (and in turn to raise as much money as possible) we are keen to confirm the BMGA players taking part in the Pro-Am as soon as possible. While the worlds best golfers were battling out for the Green jacket at the Augusta Masters, Sunday 14 April saw the legendary BMGA tweed jacket contested for at the BRITISH MASTERS at the Splash Point Minigolf course in Worthing. Congratulations to Adam Kelly (Kent Minigolf Club) for winning the title, the trophy and the jacket as the first junior player ever to win this event.

Peter Emmerson (Splash Point Minigolf Club) came 2nd with Michael Smith (Kent Minigolf Club) 3rd and Richard Gottfried (Midlands Minigolf Club) 4th. Chris Smith (Cambridgeshire Minigolf Club) won the Category 2 prize with Dave Gomm (Planet Hastings Crazy Golf Club) 2nd and Dave Donnelly (Kent Minigolf Club) 3rd. Emily Gottfried  (Cambridgeshire Minigolf Club) won the Category 3 title in a play off against Paul Godding (Midlands Minigolf Club) who came 2nd in the Category 3, with Martin Greenhead (Kent Minigolf Club) 3rd. Sean Homer won the Category 1 Aces Prize in a play off with Nuno Cunha (both players shooting 18 hole in ones across the 4 rounds). Chris Clark won the Category 2/3 Aces prize.

Entries are now open to all for the 2013 Championship, taking place across the weekend of October 26 and 27 at the Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf Course in Hastings.

Entry costs £35 with a reduced entry fee of £30 for 2013 BMGA Tour Pros. There are limited places available on a first come first served basis (payment secures entry) and the event is already over half full!! Adventure Valley Golf are holding their first event, the County Durham Adventure Golf Open on Sunday 28 April. The competition is being run by the course and the organisers are keen to see as many BMGA members attending as possible. There are 3 categories on the day - under 16's, over 16's and Tour Pro's - with prizes and trophies up for grabs. The course are offering discounted rates of play for BMGA Tour Pros this season either playing a round for £2 or getting unlimited daily play for £7.50 on production of their Tour Pro card.

This year again sees the 2 tier membership continue with the full Tour Pro membership frozen at £20 per person (free for under 18s). This is brilliant value for money as Tour Pro’s are not only eligible for discounted day rates at all of our 2013 tour event courses, ring fenced prize money (category 2 prizes) but also, and new for this season, discounted entry to key events on the tour - the British Crazy Golf Open, The British Championships, the British Open and the World Crazy Golf Championship.
