MARCH NEWSLETTER - British Masters, World Crazy Golf Championship info and more!! PDF Print E-mail
With the Easter break now here and spring finally on the way (believe it or not!), there is plenty of activity coming up on the BMGA tour so here’s the latest news and information from the British Minigolf Association.

Taking place over the same weekend as the US Masters in Augusta, the 2013 BRITISH MINIGOLF MASTERS is being contested on Sunday 14 April returning once again to Splash Point Minigolf Course in Worthing. The 4 round strokeplay event will tee-off at 10am prompt (please note the later start time) and entry to this eagerly anticipated event is £20 for adults and £10 for juniors.

The winner will once again pick up the title and trophy along with the coveted BMGA Masters Jacket and full details of the competition along with the list of current confirmed entrants and an entry form can be found at

The course is also offering a day practice rate all season of £10 for unlimited play on the course to all BMGA Tour Pros and is open week days through the Easter holidays from 11am-5pm, weekends 10.30am until 6pm and Bank Holidays also until 6pm.

Full details of all the events on the 2013 tour can be found on our website at If you want to get involved in helping to run any events on the tour then please drop me a line - we are always on the look out for people to help with the running of our events and all help, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated.

Sunday 3 March saw the first outdoor event of the BMGA season take place in Hastings. Congratulations to Craig Patterson (Cambridgeshire Minigolf Club) for winning the BRITISH CRAZY GOLF OPEN at the legendary Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course at Hastings seafront.

Craig won by 1 shot from the Kent Minigolf trio of Tony Kelly, Will Donnelly and Alex Pragnell. After a three way play-off, Tony came 2nd with Will 3rd and Alex 4th. Alex won the category 2 title, with Paul Johnson (Midlands Minigolf Club) 2nd and Chris Jones (London Minigolf Club) in third place.  In category 3 Mark Wood (Kent Minigolf Club) won with Emily Gottfried (Cambridgeshire Minigolf Club) second and Dave Gomm (Planet Hastings Crazy Golf Club) 3rd. Adam Kelly (Kent Minigolf Club) won the Category 1 aces prize, with John Moore (Midlands Minigolf Club) taking the category 2 aces prize and David Pragnell (Kent Minigolf Club) winning the category 3 aces prize.

Details of the event including full results and photos can be found at

This year again sees the 2 tier membership continue with the full Tour Pro membership frozen at £20 per person (free for under 18s). This is brilliant value for money as Tour Pro’s are not only eligible for discounted day rates at all of our 2013 tour event courses, ring fenced prize money (category 2 prizes) but also, and new for this season, discounted entry to key events on the tour - the British Crazy Golf Open, The British Championships, the British Open and the World Crazy Golf Championship (details of the entry window for the WCGC can be found below).

2013 membership information along with an application form can be found at So don’t delay – apply for your 2013 Tour Card today!

Entries are now open to all for the 2013 Championship, taking place across the weekend of October 26 and 27 at the Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf Course in Hastings.

Entry costs £35 with a reduced entry fee of £30 for 2013 BMGA Tour Pros. There are limited places available on a first come first served basis (payment secures entry) and full details of the event including an entry form and the latest list of confirmed entrants can be found at

Quest For Golf at Merry Hill Westfield Shopping Centre (now called “Krazy Golf”) are holding their grand launch on Saturday 6 April and are keen to see as many BMGA members attending as possible. All BMGA members can play for free on the day and the event will run from approx 1pm to 4pm, but BMGA members would be entitled to come earlier to get some practise!

The organisers would like anyone who has played for the Great Britain Team to wear the GBR team kit and the event will see a “shoppers –v – professionals” competition, where members of the public can challenge a member of the Great Britain Minigolf Team.

There are lots of other “Quest” activities around there for players to try on the day, including “Nerf Combat” so it promises to be a great day out!

As always if you have any questions regarding any of the information in this newsletter then please do not hesitate to contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . I look forward to seeing you all at a course in 2013.
