Pirate-themed Adventure Golf course to host first tournament on Sunday 10th July

The new Pirate Cove Adventure Golf at Bluewater Park in Kent course has been selected to host its first official British Minigolf Association competition on Sunday 10th July, the UK’s top minigolfers will be competing in the fourth annual BMGA British Matchplay Championships.

The tournament tees-off at the Smugglers course at 9am on Sunday 10th July, and will see each of the players competing for the coveted BMGA British Matchplay Title.

Each player will play seven matches throughout the day. For 2011 the tournament will be run in two phases, a round-robin stage and a knockout stage. Further details can be found at the Tournament Information Page at

Of the two 18-hole courses at 36-hole Pirate Cove Adventure Golf complex, the Smugglers course has been selected as the course to host the tournament. Further details of the Pirate Cove Adventure Golf at Bluewater Park can be found at

BMGA British Matchplay Championships Honours Board

2010 – Sean Homer, from Greenhithe, defeated Luton’s Richard Gottfried 3&1 at Worthing’s Splash Point Mini Golf course to lift the title

2009 – Andy Exall, from Paddock Wood, defeated Newcastle’s John Moore 5&4 at the Hastings Seafront Crazy Golf course to lift the title

2008 – Tim Davies, from Hastings, defeated Andy Exall 5&4 at the Hastings Seafront Crazy Golf course to lift the title 

The Pirate Cove Adventure Pro-Am Classic 2011 

Charity Doubles event at Bluewater Park on Saturday 9th July

On Saturday 9th July the BMGA will be running a charity pairs (pro-am) event in association with Bluewater Park and the Pirate Cove Adventure Park. The event will take place from 2pm and will consist of one round of strokeplay competition on the Smugglers course with pairs made up of BMGA members and the general public. The pair with the combined lowest score will win the competition. All entry fees will go to the charity choice of the winning pair’s non-BMGA Tour Pro.
