British Minigolf Tour returns to Bristol for the BMGA Rumble in the Jungle

The 2011 British Minigolf Association Tour continues on Sunday 13th February when the Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf course at Cabot Circus in Bristol once again hosts a BMGA Tour event, with the Rumble in the Jungle minigolf competition taking place at the 36-hole venue.

The tournament will tee-off at 9am on Sunday 13th February and will see over 30 British Minigolf Association (BMGA) Tour players, along with a number of local players, competing over three rounds (54-holes) on the two 18-hole indoor Adventure Minigolf courses. Entry to the event is £15. Further details and an entry form for the BMGA Rumble in the Jungle 2011 can be found at http://bit.ly/hAeh2L

The Jungle Rumble complex in Cabot Circus Shopping Centre in Bristol is home to two 18-hole Adventure Golf Courses. Competitors will be playing through a number of obstacles and settings, including a Secret Swamp, a Scary Jungle, Temple Ruins, Aztec Surroundings and a Live Volcano!

This will be the second BMGA minigolf tournament held at the Jungle Rumble course following the successful hosting of the BMGA English Open at the course last February, when Birmingham’s Chris Harding triumphed in a field of 34 players.

Chris Harding’s rounds in 2010 were 28(-8), 29(-7) and 31(-5). The rounds of 28 and 29 set new BMGA Course Record scores for the ‘Jungle’ and ‘Secret Swamp’ courses respectively. Newcastle’s John Moore also hit a 29 on the ‘Secret Swamp’ to share the Course Record.

The BMGA Tour consists of Minigolf ranking events that take place at Minigolf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf courses across the UK. Last year there were 22 BMGA Tour competitions and a total of 15 players lifted BMGA Tour titles.

Heading into the 2011 season Chris Harding from Great Barr, Birmingham currently sits atop the BMGA Order of Merit Rankings, in addition to becoming a two-time Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Champion in 2010. Oxford’s Michael Smith was ranked number one in last year’s BMGA Season-Only Ranking list. Canterbury’s Marc Chapman is currently number one in the BMGA’s Season-Only list following the BMGA Star City Open held in January. The BMGA Order of Merit will be updated for the 2010-2011 season following the Rumble in the Jungle.
