The final of the 2009 British Minigolf Association (BMGA) British Matchplay Championships took place in Hastings on Saturday 24th October (following the first day’s play of the Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Championships) with last year’s runner-up Andy Exall, from Paddock Wood, defeating Newcastle’s John Moore 5&4 at the Hastings Seafront Crazy Golf course to lift the title.

In the third/fourth place play-off match Terry Exall defeated Ted McIver to take the final podium place.

The 2009 BMGA British Matchplay Championships began on the Jurassic Encounter course at New Malden in Surrey on the 13th February, when Trevor Robertson defeated his brother Martin in a thrilling match that went to a sudden-death play-off that was won at the 4th extra-hole.

In the 2009 event a total of 32 players competed in 29 matches on 11 different BMGA Affiliate Minigolf Courses.
