New Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Rankings PDF Print E-mail

Castle Golf, sponsors of the World Crazy Golf Championships held in Hastings, East Sussex, have released a new Crazy Golf World Rankings list. The full Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Championship Rankings can be found at:
http://www.miniaturegolfer.com/castle_golf_world_crazy_golf_rankings.html

The World Crazy Golf Championships have been held every year since 2003. Tim 'Ace Man' Davies, from Hastings, has won the title for five of those six years and is the current champion. In the Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Rankings 2003-2008 217 players are listed, with Tim 'Ace Man' Davies ranked at number one, John ‘Big Top Ted’ McIver at number two and Ruth Bullin number three.

This year’s Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Championships will be held in Hastings on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October. Each player plays the entire weekend, four rounds (72 holes) on the Saturday followed by two rounds (36 holes) on the Sunday.  The top 18 players then go through to the final round, which is played under special and unique ‘Crazy Golf’ rules on Sunday afternoon, to decide the Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Champion.

In previous years players have come from as far afield as India, Tibet, the Czech Republic and Finland as well as all the home nations, and famous faces including Colin Jackson and Phil Tufnell have competed. The World Crazy Golf Championship has also featured in a number of media throughout the years including Transworld Sport, Channel 4's series Grudge Match, Sky's European Tour Weekly and a range of newspapers and magazines.

Hastings Adventure Golf’s David Hartley said “The 7th annual World Crazy Golf Championships once again comes to Hastings in the last weekend in October. Around 90 of the world’s finest Crazy Golf players will descend on the town to battle over two days for the coveted trophy and a share of the £3,000 prize fund. The tournament was born in Hastings in 2003 and is now the permanent home for this annual event. Hastings Adventure Golf is the tournament organiser, with support from the British Minigolf Association. The sponsors are Castle Golf, designers and builders of Adventure Golf courses worldwide.”

“Competition is fierce and local player Tim ‘Ace Man’ Davies, who walked off with the title and trophy for the first four years - and the 6th year, will be looking to claim it yet again this year. The only person ever to beat Tim in this tournament was Chris Harding from Birmingham in 2007. He will be back to have another crack at the title. However, other players to watch are the UK’s Andy Exall and John McIver, Pasi Aho from Finland and Olivia Prokopova from the Czech Republic.”

“Spectators are welcome and all eyes will be on the October weather which can be so fickle. In past years, the players have contended with strong winds and rain, but short of a snow-storm or heavy lightning, the tournament will go ahead.”

Castle Golf (www.adventuregolf.co.uk) produces quality adventure golf courses throughout the World. Applications for entry into the 2009 Castle Golf World Crazy Golf Championship are now being accepted from the public.  Entry details can be found at:
