On Saturday 25th April thirty players from the British Minigolf Association (BMGA) Tour will be at Adventure Island’s Inca and Aztec Adventure Golf Course in Southend on Sea for the 10th Annual BMGA British Masters minigolf tournament.

Great Britain’s top Minigolfers will be playing 36 holes of competitive Minigolf with all important ranking points on offer, and a trophy, three-figure prize and a winner’s jacket up for grabs for the winner. There are also prizes for 2nd and 3rd places and the top ‘Novice’ player in the competition.

The BMGA British Masters tournament is a key tournament on the BMGA Tour Calendar and was won last year by Newcastle’s John Moore with a four-round score of 19, 19, 18, and 18 for a total of 74(+2), an average of 2.05 shots per hole. Also in the field this year are four other previous British Masters hoping to win again, they are Ted McIver (2002, 2004, 2005), Tim Davies (2003), Trevor Exall (2006) and Keith Kellard (2007).

The Adventure Island course consists of two 9-hole courses (the Aztec and Inca Challenges) which feature obstacles such as rocks, poles, hills, tunnels, and even a crashed plane. During the weekend the course will also be hosting special Matchplay matches as part of the 2009 BMGA British Matchplay Championship that is taking place throughout the season.
